An Author’s Guide to Your First Children’s Book

This speaking engagement focuses on the timeline and steps it took to get When We’re Under the Same Roof from sketches on my iPad to a published book. Ngân will lead an engaging presentation outlining the steps to writing, publishing, and marketing your first book.

School Visit: Daycares - Pre-K

Beginning with a story time period, Ngân will lead classrooms in engagement exercises, choosing between:

  • Help students define what “home” means beyond the walls and roof.

  • Draw your own children’s book character.

Stickers, coloring pages, and activity pages included.

Ngân will share tips and tricks from their process of designing their first children’s book. This program goes into details on the visual aspect of the book rather than the writing. Ngân will share their own templates on making a dummy book, cover, color script, character sheet, and more.
